About Me
I'm a designer maker who creates jewellery that evokes a sense of ancient artefacts.
I started this journey by making silver jewellery that I wanted to wear, that I couldn't find anywhere else; eclectic, unusual, organic silver jewellery. Simple design with texture and visual interest is what excites me and I'm constantly experimenting and trying new techniques in order to express that.
Etching designs into silver is one of my favourite ways to add texture and I frequently use abstracts that are based on Art Nouveau and Art Deco motifs, my favourite design eras. In addition I like to play with textures created with hammers and tools that most of us have in our homes, using different ways to create something beautiful that looks like it was created long ago.
Planning is part of the process - I make notes and rough sketches, just so I can look back and remember what I did, or planned to do - but I mostly just create. And that's what makes it artisan silver jewellery. Jewellery created from my heart, through my hands and using whatever tools I have.
The process of making jewellery is all consuming, spending time creating my pieces is like a meditation. I love to immerse myself in it and I hope that my passion resonates with you too.
